Lighting controls and dimming systems may be used in small applications or for large and huge controlled structures. Dimming is the linking ring of the control chain between the system interface and the powering device of the light source. The control signals through this chain is called “protocol”. In any large, integrated building controls project, multiple protocols may be used in different parts of the project. The most common and open lighting dimming systems & protocols are 0-10V, DALI, DMX.
